                   Cooperative Doctoral Program

                        Sponsored by
Oregon Graduate Center, Computer Science and Engineering
                            and
         Tektronix, Inc., Computer Research Laboratory

This program allows participants to pursue an advanced degree in computer
science while gaining experience in an industrial research and advanced
development group. This program is different from the regular part-time
degree program in that a student's thesis research will also be his or her
primary work assignment at Tektronix.

The Oregon Graduate Center (OGC) is a private, non-profit institution
founded in 1963 as a research institute and graduate school, focusing
on applied science and engineering. There are currently four academic
departments, each offering fully-accredited programs at the masters and
doctoral levels. The newest is Computer Science and Engineering,
which was established in 1981. Current faculty research interests include
functional, object-oriented, and logic languages, database query languages,
program generation from very-high-level system specification, program testing,
computer architectures for highly-parallel processing, and knowledge
management systems.

The Computer Research Laboratory (CRL) is part of Tektronix' Applied Research
Laboratories. CRL has groups in distributed systems, computing environments,
AI machine software and hardware, high-performance 3-D graphics, design
support environments, IC design environments, application accelerators,
expert systems for troubleshooting, computer algebra & automated reasoning,
technical project support systems, and AI design automation.

Oregon Graduate Center and the Computer Research Laboratory are located
six miles apart in Beaverton, part of the Portland metropolitan area
and center of Oregon's rapidly expanding electronics and computer industry.
They are minutes from urban, suburban or country living, and well within two
hours of the Cascade mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Applicants should have a baccalaureate in computer science or a related
scientific or engineering discipline. Participants must meet the regular OGC
admissions requirements, but prior work experience is not necessary. Current
OGC students and Tektronix employees are eligible.
