[net.followup] Day After Group

johnc@dartvax.UUCP (John Cabell) (11/19/83)

I have a feeling that a net.da group would be a good idea, scince
it is supposed to be very hard to watch. I myself will probably
want to vent my opinions, and I think I will like to hear other
peoples reactions also.
	Waiting 'till Sunday,

Yesterday's All Things Considered (NPR) carried an interview
of a psychologist who STRONGLY recommended that children
12 years and under NOT view this program. He further
recommended that parents of children 13-16 preview the program and
be prepared to view it with their children and to discuss it with
them during and after viewing. He further recommended that
even adults view it in groups and discuss the program afterward
to release some of the emotional impact of the program.

My daughter's (4 yrs old) Montessori school is requesting that
parents permit NONE of the children to view this program.

Folks, this stuff is emotional dynamite, for adults as
well as children. It could have a devastating impact
(rightly so in my OPINION) on its audience's emotional state,
so treat it with care.
