The Association for the Development of Computer-Based Instructional Systems (ADCIS) is holding their annual conference in New Orleans on February 3-6. I didn't get to attend last year's conference due to some project constraints, but the program looked really diverse and interesting. I heard good reports from those who did attend. One of the things I like about this group is the way interests are served; they separate people into various special interest groups (SIGs) so that those of us in industry-land aren't subject to discussions and workshops together with people in the secondary school market. FYI, the special interests groups are: Computer-based training Elementary/Secondary/Jr. College Educators of the Handicapped Health Education Home Economics Consortium Implementation Interactive Video/Audio Mini/Micro Computer Users Music Education PLATO users Theory and Research in CBT PILOT Interactive Instructional Systems (IBM product) The conference will have papers and workshops for each of the interest groups. Anyone interested in more info on the conference or on ADCIS? Let me know and I can post additional info to the net.
