Since you live in the Chicago area, you may or may not have heard
of a place called "Dove's Candies". Although I am not an expert by any means,
they do make their own chocolate, candy, and ice cream, which I consider to be
very good. They have three locations. I am only familiar with one of them. I
don't know where the other two are. The one I know of is on the corner of
south 95th street and 52 avenue in Oak Lawn. 52 avenue is four blocks west of
Cicero. The store is located on the north west corner of the intersection.
For what it's worth, they have been given the title of Chicago's best on more
than one occasion, by more than one publication. Both the Tribune and the Times
have rated it so at one time or another, as well as others. The owner make all
of the candies and ice cream himself. He prefers the dark chocolates, but he
states most of the customers buy the light or milk chocolate. Both are offered.
Maybe you'll give it a try. I think it's worth it.

PS. I my opinion, Fannie May doesn't even compare with Dove's.
