            The sequences of the micro- and macronuclear R1 genes were
            compared. Several internal eliminated sequences were found within
            the micronuclear sequence. These IES are removed during
            macronuclear development. The sequence of the macronuclear R1 gene
            can be assembled from regions 135-269, 317-541, 1535-1557,
            1572-1632, and 1658-1793; see M18657.
