It looks as if "sciences" (as in M.S.) and "philosophy" (as in Ph.D.) have less and less in common these days. Maybe there should be a D.Sc. in computer science--an acknowledged, accredited "wizard" degree. (Something that few philosophiae doctores could earn, I suspect!)
