The networks are cutting back on their coverage of the shuttle, especially CBS. CBS will go live at Cape Canaveral at 10:56 AM Sunday -- just 4 minutes before lift-off, and stay on till 11:10. Their landing coverage will be 12:05 PM through 12:15 PM on Sunday, July 4. ABC is doing somewhat better; they'll have lift-off coverage from 10:30 through 11:30, and landing coverage from noon until 12:30 as part of "This Week with David Brinkley". And NBC will be on from 10 AM till 11:30 AM for the lift-off, and has indicated that they will give the landing similar attention. Even Cable News Network -- which has payed a lot of attention in the past -- will be cutting back.
