            There are about 15 Group 1 MUP genes and their transcripts make up
            abour 5% of male mouse liver RNA. The protein products of the gene
            family are heterogeneous and their function is unknown. The protein
            product of MUP 15 is glycsylated, while those of the Group 1 genes
            are not.
