I have a letter requesting funds from a group calling themselves Space Studies Institute. They are based in Princeton, NJ. Their letter comes with an endorsement by Isaac Asimov stating that "S.S.I. is the major organization working to make space manufacturing and space colonies possible". My question is this: Does anybody know anything about them? Do they deserve anything more than to have their letters thrown out with the dirty diapers? I have thought seriously about sending money to the L5 Society, because I have heard of them and I know that they are doing useful stuff. But I have never heard of S.S.I. Please reply by mail.
