Just a reminder to all of you out there that the Perseids meteor shower will be peaking this week. Grab your blankets or lawn chairs and check it out. Now for the bad news. First, peak activity is calculated to be during the daylight hours of the 12th (Thursday). Second, the moon will be last quarter on the 12th, making serious observation after midnight impossible. Nonetheless, if the weather is good, and you have dark skies around, enjoy the display. Best bet should be Wednesday or Thursday night, although if you're out this weekend, keep your eyes open...
