            In [1], a second large open reading frame is also found
            (nucleotides 513-1100). This region could encode a maximum of 195
            amino acids although the size of a putative protein depends on
            whether the mRNA is spliced and the subsequent location of the
            initiation codon. The second open reading frame on RNA segment 7 is
            conserved as a feature of influenza B viruses and is not peculiar
            to B/Lee/40. It suggests that this region is important in the
            replicative cycle of influenza B viruses (discussed in [1]).
