            Histone genes contain a highly conserved region consisting of an
            inverted repeat (FT: INVREP A-F) required for accurate processing
            of the 3'end of the histone mRNA. The large intergenic region
            between H2B and H1B contains interrupted direct repeats ranging in
            size from 5 to 25 nucleotides (especially between position 6180 -
            6380).
