I'm posting this locally in the hopes that the expertise exists here to
help with a few requests. I'm aware of American archive servers but
prefer not to tie up the long distance lines if I can possibly help it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
1) I'm new to Postscript (just bought a used PacificPage cart for $225)
and would like to find a local source of Tomas Rokicki's dvips 5.4. It
was released for ftp access (from Stanford) in November.
Does dvips use on-disk .pk (or .gf) files in addition to the in-printer
fonts?
2) Any other pointers to useful Postscript utilities or guides is
appreciated.
3) I'm also new to X. Does anyone have a recent copy of xfig, transfig,
xtex or xdvi?
4) Does anyone have, or know anything about, "Jacques Goldman's Hebrew
fonts"?
5) One LaTeX question:
Can one change the default font *family* without having to explicitly
redefine every possible individual font? Let's say I want to use
Helvetica (either the Postscript, or Metafont's "cmss*") as my main
font for everything. I've made up a small macro file with
definitions, but it seems that every time I switch into a font I
haven't used before (say, \large\bf) it falls back on the cmr stuff.
What would I add to an sty file to read in a replacement for
lfonts.tex? Or is there a better way to do this?
Again, thanks for any help.
