[comp.dcom.sys.cisco] Fault-tolerant cisco

HANK@BARILVM.BITNET (Hank Nussbacher) (08/13/90)

Suppose I have two parallel redundant Ethernets. One is the
primary and the other is the secondary should the first become
non-operational. All my equipment is attached to both Ethernets,
and all my equipment knows to use the 1st Ethernet and leave the 2nd
one as a hot standby. Can I attach my cisco router to both
Ethernets and have the cisco act in the same way - use only one
Ethernet and leave the 2nd as a hot-standby in the event that the
1st fails?

Thanks,
