We have cisco routers that we are using as part of the connection for our newsfeed. We had originally purchased Telebit T2500 modems for the connection, but then we wanted to add the routers for security purposes. Our understanding of the router requirements for a serial connection is four wire full duplex HDLC. The Telebits can do two wire SDLC and something called "transparent Synchronous". We are currently using some Codex 9600 bps HDLC modems, but would like to use the Telebits that we purchased. Can this be done? How should we set up the router/modems for this? Does anyone know what "transparent synchronous" actually means? Thanks. Please mail directly and I will summarize. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don Roberts Internet: dsroberts@biivax.dp.beckman.com Beckman Instruments, Inc.
