Has anyone tried chaining unnumbered IP? What effect would this have on secondary addresses? Here's what I'd like to do... Net a.a.x.0 | | router1---net b.b.x.0 | | net b.b.w.0 & net a.a.z.0 secondary | router2---net c.c.0.0 | | unnumbered IP | router3---net b.b.z.0 | | unnumbered IP | router4 | | Net a.a.y.0 The serial line between router1 & router2 exists and has a.a.z.0 as a secondary IP address. The serial line between router2 & router3 is not installed yet. If it is configured unnumbered, will it carry the same two IP addresses as the top port of router2? When the line between router3 & router4 is installed, will it pass on the two addresses at the top port of router2? Can these unnumbered connections be chained like this or should I make these sites bite the bullet and reconfigure all their machines to match net c.c.0.0? All networks shown are class B & subnetted. The sites 3 & 4 already exist and are configured with addresses as shown, but are not connected yet. The order of the connections is based on physical locations which are separated by a great distance and a lot of water. ( In other words, it wouldn't be cheap to connect out of this order ) Thanks...
