[comp.dcom.sys.cisco] Terminal Server RJ-11 Pinouts

quinn@mgr.hjf.org (Kevin Quinn) (02/13/91)

Hello,
	- This is my first message to the list and I regret that it has to be a concern. But I am wondering if anyone else is using a ASM Terminal Server with RJ11 Applique's?

I am, and here are the RJ11 pinouts that are listed in the books:

 cisco terminal server
 	1 Data Terminal Ready
 	2 Received Data
 	3 Transmitted Data
 	4 Ground
 	5 Ring Indicate
 	6 Clear to Send

 Digital VT320/330/anyDECTerminal
 	1 Data Terminal Ready
 	2 Transmitted Data
 	3 Transmit Ground
 	4 Receive Ground
 	5 Receive Data
 	6 Data Set Ready

 ~flame on~ any ideas?? ~flame off~

It has been suggested that I just connect 1-1,2-5,3-2,4-3,blah,blah,blah,blah..
I would like to find a different solution to this problem... if there is one!

any answers or comments would be greatly appreciated!!

From page 40 of DECconnect System Component Summary you want (roughly)

	DEC Cisco

	1 1
	2 2
	3 4
	4 4
	5 3
	6 6
