for: Kevin Mullet We also have Cisco AGS+ v 8.1(21). I have IPX, IP and DECnet with some LAT bridged. Our topology has a set of Novell lan's off of the ethernet interface of most of our routers. The lan's are across the western US and each site is more or less independent (the lan managers do talk to each other). We have no problem at all with IPX. However, the ethernets are configured with NOVELL-ETHER encapsulation. We did have a problem in the beginning when we tried to use ARPA because the Novell nets were not. Currently we have about the same traffic load on the three main protocols but are in the process of bringing up Bureau wide mail on Wordperfect Office mail so the IPX will increase dramatically and the DECnet will reduce. We do not have any Novell Bridge's running locally but there are some in other regions of the wan. IPX has been our least troubling protocol. You may want to check the Novell net configuration to ensure it has the Novell servers using ARPA rather than their own encapsulation. Have faith though for when the bugs do go away you may find IPX very stable and trouble free as we have. Good Luck, Jim Wheeler jimww@sacmgr.mp.usbr.gov 916-978-5089
