First, the new board... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yikes. I've just adopted another memory board with no papers... If anyone has details on this board, please let me know. It accepts 4 banks of DIPs and has 1 bank of 64KB installed. There are two sets of dip switches across the top; info on how to set these is what I need most. Label sez: FCC ID:DJ968D-QMEGATX9013 NAME: QUADMEG ATX QUALIFIED: 08-1985 SUBMITTED: 09-1985 09490103 Rev 3A Board itself sez: QUADRAM CORP. (c) 1985 01-9013-R3 Made in USA and has some PALs labeled 207001 and 207101, if that helps determining the generation. Basic info needed: 1) will it accept 256KB, 1MB, and/or 4MB chips? I'm hoping it can take at least 256KBs, for a total capacity of 2MB. 2) how to configure dip switches for each given memory size / DRAM type 3) is there a limit on machine/bus speed? 4) what speed DRAMs must be used? 5) could it have killed Laura Palmer? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Second, the old board... (repeat) I have here a Suntek extended (?) memory board, perhaps called Memory Plus AT, that supposedly came out of an Acer 286. Sadly, there's no manual or other doc to be found. Pleeeeeze, if somebody has the same board and can give me a clue how to configure it, I'd GREATLY appreciate it! Description: 16-bit board, 4 banks for DIPs arranged horizontally starting from top left (bank 0 at top, 18 sockets per bank), with the other circuitry covering the rightmost third of the board. There are two sets of dip switches (8 settings each) labeled SW1 and SW2 (of course). There is an FCC label on the rear of the board which says, "Suntek Information System Inc. FCC ID: FK3459 MEMPLUSAT)", plus a probable serial number (PA603210). A label on the front says "MEMOPLUS A". Several PALs are also labeled "Suntek" plus a number. The board currently has 3 banks populated (1.5MB total), but the configuration is wrong somehow. If anybody has documentation or has a working version of this board, please let me know. If you have an Acer 286 around with a memory board, it could potentially be the same or similar board. Thanks a bunch in advance. -- Alan Denney aland@informix.com {pyramid|uunet}!infmx!aland "We log to infinity. It's ours; it's out there; and we need it all.
