[ba.market.computers] Discovered--The Elusive '030 NeXT Cube

sgold@well.sf.ca.us (Sam Goldberger) (06/29/91)

I've found another fully configured NeXT '030 cube!

I have had a series '030 cubes over the past
several months, and this is certainly the best I have
seen: it is extremely low mileage, with no wear apparent
on keyboard or mouse. The cases are perfect, the optical
sparkling clean. The monitor's sharpness and alignment
are excellent, with no signs of burn in.

It is configured as follows:

     Hardware:
	* '030 cube with mouse, keyboard and 17" MagaPixel
	* 16 Megs RAM
	* Maxtor 349 Meg Internal Hard Drive
	* Optical drive, complete with dust filter
	* Fan blowing in correct direction
	* Keyboard feet, to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome
	* Two single-sided floptical disks (see below)
	* The ever essential NeXT Tool

     Software:
	* Extended releases of NeXT Step 1.0 and 2.0 on floptical,
and including FrameMaker, Mathematica, Prolog, WriteNow, etc.
	* Useful PD software including pcomm, kermit, dimblack
	* Additional commercial software, including Improv,
TopDraw, PowerStep (ok, so it's discontinued), Presentation
                Builder, communicae, Who's Calling
	* Over 40 additional fonts (converted from Mac)
	* Most important of all, Tetris!

     Documentation:
	* Standard user docs for 1.0 and 2.0
	* Full set of technical docs for 1.0
	  detailed instructions for Interface Builder
                instructions for InterfaceBuilder.

I have loaded System 2.0 and all the additional software on the hard
disk, and burned in the system thoroughly. It comes in the original
boxes, complete with everything including a wrist strap!

Note that for an additional $1500, you can add an '040 board
and floppy drive. You then have a system whose hardware value alone
is about $13,000 (list). And you'd still have to buy the technical
docs.

Price as discribed: $6000 plus S/H via FedEx COD 2nd Day Air

For further information, please email or call as per below.

     Thank you.
