[llnl.x] XmString prob evolves into UIL/XmString prob

I recently posted:

My test case that did *not* use UIL set and retrieved labels
correctly, but a similar test case using a push button widget created
with UIL returned the null label string. So, is there a solution to
this? I really need to get at those label values. This is my first
time using UIL, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I can set the
labels from within my code, but can't retrieve them.

thanks for any and all assistance,
carol
