The Center for Supercomputing R&D at the UofI Urbana has just installed a new FX2800. It's running the most recent version of Concentrix as ported to the new architecture. This OS does not support DNS (calls such as gethostbyname do not use the Domain Name Service). I'd like to find source or compiled versions of the library routines that involve DNS to substitute for the release versions so that DNS will be used for name resolution. Has anyone successfully installed such software on any Alliant machine? Please reply to washburn@csrd.uiuc.edu. thanks, mark
