I was wondering what the law says about writing and distributing your own versions of commercial games. For instance, could I write a knockoff of Tetris and distribute it as shareware? I know Joe Holt did his own (incredible) version of Defender, which he made public domain. Didn't this infringe on someone's copyright? To avoid a long legal thread, I ask that responses be e-mailed to me. If people care, I'll post a summary. Eric Hsu ehsu@husc4.Bitnet, ehsu@husc4.UUCP
