[comp.sys.apple2] Apple2<->IBM

JRE103@psuvm.psu.edu (James R. Evans Jr.) (03/23/90)

   I remember someone asking about transfering files between apple2 and IBM, so
 I thought that I'd put my 2 cents in too. I have a IIgs with an Applied
Engineering PCtransporter board which lets me emulate the IBM PC. There is a
MS-DOS program called TRANSFER, which lets you directly change files from one
format to the other, without uploading it and such. This program is on the AEPC
 system disk, but you have to have an apple2 with the card to use it.

Does anyone know if the PC Transporter supports IBM 1.44 meg 3.5 inch or 1.2
meg 5.25 inch floppies?

Thanks

Rick

With respect to disk sizes on the PCT. It does not support the 1.44 3.5
drive nor the 1.2 5.25 drive. I have been looking for an MSDOS program
that would enable a DD 3.5 disk to carry more than the 720 (or is it 760K)
that disk holds but so far I have not found such a program.
