Perhaps when we go out to other stars we'll find many such races [that have no desire to explore space] on random yellow stars? Robert Elton Mass Oh? If what you say is indeed common, then it's quite likely that WE won't have a desire to explore extrastellar space in a few decades (assuming, of course, that the type of genetic engineering that you talk about is possible -- after all, it's hard to believe that the desire to explore is unrelated to general intelligence rather than to some specific gene site).
