OK I've gotten the low down from the author Ben Koning of Apple. He says "If you plan to distribute it, you have to do so without the ROM images." and " The *rest* of the emulator is entirely my property and I'm basically giving it away, as long as my name stays (in the source at least)." So.. I will heed his requests.. To all those who requested copies of it, I want to get ProDOS running on this monster before it goes out, as well as programs which will aid in the capturing of ROM images. PLEASE BE PATIENT... I want to try to Get a minimal machine working before farming this baby out. This has some really strong potential. So far, I have made the following enhancements, with the final goal of a 128K Apple //c with 20 Meg Hard drive with Appleworks. 16K "Language Card" RAM ProDOS Support (almost, everything but a way to boot) 40 column display What I want: 128K bank switch RAM (easy) 80 Column Display (easy) Symbolic Debugger (moderate) Graphics (easy, but SSSSSSSLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW) Anyone know of the easiest way to get a ProDOS disk image into a UNIX file? I suppose, I need to write a program that will dump a 5.25" disk to an 800K floppy file then upload it. or maybe just create a small file system manually on my Sparc with one System file. Currently the file PRODOS is loaded directly into RAM at startup. It is able to relocate itself, and now dies when trying to read in the voume directory (because there isn't one). When ProDOS is running, I'll either post it or put it up on husc6.harvard.edu. I hope to keep the most up to date version there. Most of all I think that we need to focus on one product. In time this thing may snowball into something useful, but we have to keep organized. thanks for all your support... and a special thanks to Ben Koning for his donation... -Paul Nakada pnakada@oracle.com
