I just took a peek at my Apple IIGS Hardware Reference, schematic diagram,
page 3, and it looks to me like the clock's timebase is a 32.768 Khz crystal.
There is no provision to synchronize the clock to the power line... but then
again, why would you bother? This thing should be as accurate as an
equivalently tweaked digital watch.
