CEO file contents: Ok, here we go. The following are the FTP sites that I know about that hold Apple ][ software: Name IP address Where to look / What you'll find -------------------- ---------------- ------------------------------------- apple.com [130.48.2.2] pub/dts / aii/mac/hin tn/sc husc6.harvard.edu [128.103.1.56] apple2 / Apple ][ him1.cc.umich.edu [35.1.1.43] PC5: / Apple ][ f.ms.uky.edu [128.163.128.6] appleII / Apple ][ brownvm.brown.edu [128.148.128.40] listserv.193 / APPLE2-L (no index) wuarchive.wustl.edu [128.252.135.4] usenet/comp.binaries.apple2 archive plains.nodak.edu [128.129.111.64] pub/appleII / Apple ][ Who runs each FTP site (I think, I may be wrong): husc6.harvard.edu - Paul Nakada (nakada@husc6.harvard.edu) him1.cc.umich.edu - Todd A. Bakal (Tabakal@UB.CC.UMICH.EDU) f.ms.uky.edu - aash@ms.uky.edu wuarchive.wustl.edu- Chan Wilson (cwilson@wuarchive.wustl.edu or archives@wugate.wustl.edu) I'd like to thank all of the people that maintain/support/expand/etc.. the above FTP sites!! You're work is much appreciated!!!! Someone asked for a pointer to the Nucleus demo, here are the commands to get the file on any of the FTP hosts (for folks new to FTP): To get it from f.ms.uky.edu, issue the following commands to your FTP program: open f.ms.uky.edu (Note: You can usually also use an open [128.163.128.6] command (which would be usefull if your host doesn't know about the f.ms.uky.edu host)) cd appleII/demos type binary (Note: The Nucleus demo is a binary file (IE:Its not just ascii text on this particular host)) get Nucleus.demo.Z bye (you'll need to uncompress the resulting file using the compress program.) These are the commands to get it from plains.nodak.edu: open plains.nodak.edu cd pub/appleII/GS/graphics type binary get NUCLEUS.SHK bye (download the SHK to your apple, use Shrinkit to extract it, then boot the resulting disk) These are the commands to get it from husc6.harvard.edu: open husc6.harvard.edu cd apple2/demos get nucleus bye (download the nucleus file, use binscii to get a shrinkit file...) And finally, these are the commands to get it from him1.cc.umich.edu: open him1.cc.umich.edu cd PC5: (note: Include the colon, or you'll never get to the correct directory) get DE.NUCLEUS bye Good luck in your FTP explorations!!
