With all this talk about accessing 1/4 tracks by holding the drive arm between two 1/2 tracks, would someone like to describe how the stepper motor in a 5 1/4 " drive actually works? I know how to move the arm by switching between so-called phases with a delay, but haven't quite figured out the mechanics of the situation.
