Does any know if the Epson L-1000 printer works with an Apple IIc and AppleWorks? What about other printers? How can I find out what printers will work with it, and what cables etc are necessary? Thanks, Mike Rose mrose@stsci.edu

I used to run a parallel Star printer from my //c using one. You can set it up to do "translations". You then tell your software that you are using an Imagewriter and it will translate the control codes to the proper ones for your printer. This is especially handy when using programs that are set up for Imagewriters only, like some of the cheaper educational programs. The only thing that I couldn't emulate was the "eat paper" function of the imagewriter //. :-). One thing to beware of. Orange is marketing a Grappler for the Mac/C etc. This is for the *c+* not the c. Look for the older c model. In fact, you could probably find a used one floating around pretty cheap. Don't buy it without the manual though. ******************************************************************** * * * bob church bchurch@oucsace.cs.ohiou.edu * * * * If economics isn't an "exact" science why do computers crash * * so much more often than the stock market? * * bc * ********************************************************************
