[comp.sys.apple2] Apple II as a file server

I was surprised when I went over to my daughter's junior high school and
learned that her home room teacher had about 12 Apple IIe's hooked up on some
kind of a mini network with one hard drive and was using an Apple IIe as a
file server (I'd always thought you needed a Mac).

Well, I found out that the company who designed the system (several years ago)
was SWI Int'l Systems, 7741 E. Gray Dr. Scottsdale, AZ. My daughter's
teacher also told me that another company is selling thes "SWI Hard Disk
Drives": Ideal Learning Inc., 8505 Freeport Parkway, Suite 360, Irving, TX
75063.

This "network" isn't that sophisticated, but it seems to work well and does
the job.
