I am looking for a list of V.32 BBS systems that support the Apple II. These include the Dual Standard USRobotics HST, later V-Series modems, and many of the Telebit modems. If anyone has even ONE bbs number, please mail it to me. I am not interested in the "single-standard" HST boards (I bought a Telebit T2500). Also, if anyone has ever wondered how to make a Telebit work at 19.2k with ProTERM, do the following: 1) Install the following: "Hayes Smartmodem 2400", init string "ATE0V0Q0" 2) run ProTERM 3) type Apple-&. You will crash into the monitor. 4) type A02 and hit return. You should get a 3. This is the maximum/current baud rate (2400). Type A02:6 and hit return. You will now force ProTERM to 19200 baud. 5) hit reset 6) save defaults 7) run the install 8) quit the install 9) now you're set. You ran the install to implant the 19.2k setting permanently into the Hayes 2400 driver (the one you are currently using -- if you reinstall the modem driver you will need to do this over). For some reason Greg put a "feature" in that prevents you from going faster than your modem supports. What BS. Maybe 2.2 will provide support. You should set ALL your systems to 19200 for the baud rate and let the modem handle flow control. If anyone wants my modem setup, send me mail. I use the AB switch for two profiles, one for 300-9600 baud systems and one for 19.2kbaud systems. Again, if anyone has a list of V.32 or Telebit systems PLEASE leave me mail. Just one system would be nice. I know there must be a few.
