Does anyone know of drivers for the HP line of printers for the GS? There has been some reference to some, somewhere, but an extensive search has left me with nothing to show for the effort. In particular, HP now provides an Appletalk version of the DeskWriter(and of its lasers). So will these drivers, if they exist, work over Appletalk. This is a problem for GS owners. We have only a few printer drivers available to us. For example, we can get an HP IIP laser with Postscript(on a cartridge) and Appletalk for less than half the price of a LaserWriter NT. The DeskWriter costs less than the ImageWriterII. I'm referring to academic pricing here(in Canada). On another GS related question. Is there an equation editor available for dealing with technical documents. We would probably need more horizontal lines to make it usable, but... It is really becoming frustrating, as the GS falls behind every other micro in these important areas. For a graphics' oriented computer, I must say that the lack of a suitable graphics' mode for doing mathematical typing is distressing. I would like to remain an all Apple(this includes the Mac) customer, but Apple is making it very hard to justify. Philip McDunnough E-mail:philip@utstat.toronto.edu University of Toronto [my opinions]
