I'm currently in the market for a high capacity hard disk drive (about 100 MB or greater), and have some questions I hope some people will be gracious enough to answer. I have recently seen advertisements from a company called "PowerDRIVE" in MacUser Magazine (ok, ok, I sometimes read rags for other machines; don't beat me). Anyways, does anyone have any experiences from this company? Their prices are very good ($629 for a 105 MB Conner mechanism in an external drive with power supply), but has anyone gotten a better value? Where? Also listed is a Syquest based 45 MB removable external drive subsystem for $649. The question about this is (and please give me your honest opinions) is the removeable drive a better option for mass storage than a 100+ MB fixed HD? I plan on running a 32 MB partition for MS-DOS junk (for my PCTransporter) and would like to know other's experiences with doing this on a big fixed drive vs. a mid-sized removable drive. And... If there are any other options that you consider better than the ones I've been thinking of (above), I'd love to here them. I'm considering spending less than $800 for the drive, cable, terminator, and DMA SCSI card for my IIgs with Transwarp, and would like to get the biggest drive or best value possible for my money (of course). Any and all suggestions are appreciated. BTW, (hope this doesn't PO anyone), I have a 1.5 MB GS-RAM card, fully loaded, that I am trying to part with... Its in perfect condition, and I'm only asking $99 plus S&H (about $5). Anyone want more memory?
