For those of you that have FTP'd or had MicroEMACS GS mailed to you it certainly is a far cry better than ROSE16 and the editor under ORCA. This things is really nice. Not only is it very similar to EMACS on UNIX, including the bindings, but it also has nice redirection and allows you to escape to the shell to execute prodos programs. I have even run the standard orca editor as a separate process and it worked beautifully. When I exited, there I was back in EMACS. You can even run PRIZM and, when you exit, there you are back in EMACS. The best use of this is to compile your program and see if any errors prop up. You can also pipe the results of the compile to an EMACS window. If you don't have it, then FTP it from brownvm.bitnet. For those of you who don't have ftp access, then you can get it via E-MAIL. I forget the address now but send me mail and I'll leave you instructions on how to get it. You will receive 3 doc files, 5 working files, 1 instruct file, and 1 intro file. It is quite large and was written all in C. Does anyone know the individual who did the port and where he can be reached? thanks, albert ... mthvax!mamia!albert
