Assuming that one has memory to spare, what is an optimal size to set the cache in GSOS? Is it the larger the better or do most of the benefits occur at some reasonably small size. -------

The blocks that go in the cache are usually directory blocks, bitmap blocks, etc--not data blocks. I'll be surprised if you can easily notice a performance difference once it gets bigger than about 64K, but feel free to experiment & see. -- David A.
