I wasn't sure about size, either, but then I saw QEDIT on the IBM, which does
everything I described and manages to fit it into 60K.  I'm writing it all in
assembly language.  I like C, but it produces code that is too big for this
purpose, and I don't want to spend too much time on calling library
routines... 
 
I still want to see uEmacs for the IIgs, though.
