The following message is for those with Micol BASIC for the II, Morgan
Davis' Object Module Manager (OMM) for the II, and those interested in
GNU on the IIgs.
Micol BASIC:
How many of you have Micol BASIC for the Apple II. If you would be
interested in obtaining a new program that gives a new look-and-feel
to your programs, let me know. I have created some machine language
windows and pull-down menus that can be used very easily from Micol
BASIC. I will include full instructions with the executables.
OMM:
How many of your have Morgan Davis' Object Module Manager? I feel it
is important that all of us who have it work together to make sure
our programs interact properly with the interface and with each other.
Therefore, I propose that all who plan on writing programs for it send
me their net address and what programs they have already written for it
and what programs they will be writing for it. Then, I will mail this
list all ALL who respond to this post. This way, as programs become
available, we can send it to each other and test it out, making sure
life is OK.
GNU on the IIgs:
I recently started porting GNU <head> and <tail> to the GS when I
realized I needed an error() function. Therefore, I mailed to
the folks at FSF to ask where I could obtain it. It turns out they
NO longer support the Apple computer as a platform for GNU material
and will provide ABSOLUTELY NO support for people interested in doing
this. For those interested in why I'll mail you the message they sent
me. Briefly, they are upset over Apple's lawsuit to protect ITS user
interface. Therefore, for those of you interested in porting GNU
material or for those of you who have already started, please send
me your net address so we can coordinate with each other as to what
has already been done and what has yet to be completed. If you need
help with the sources (i.e. where to get), just send me a letter.
Also, it IS important that we keep this within the Apple community.
Please don't post to any of the GNU newsgroups. Let's honor their
decision to dishonor Apple. After all, they have not given us a
moratorium on porting the software to the gs. Let's coordinate to do
this and spread the software to other Apple users who would definitely
be interested.
comments on the above are GREATLY appreciated.
