Help! I've been trying without sucess to establish a null-modem connection between my '286 machine and my IIgs, in hopes of exchanging several megs of data between the two systems. The cable connection is as follows: modem cable from the GS modem port to a null-modem adapter to a gender-cganger to the clone's serial port. All components have been used sucessfully in other applications, except for the null-modem. I checked that with an ohmmeter; all the proper lines are crossed. I've tried various baud rates (keeping both serial ports at the same speed); I've tried every combination of flow control I can think of; I've tried different settings for data & stop bits, parity, DCD & DSR/DTR handshaking, etc. For software, I've been attempting to use ProComm Plus on the clone, and ProTERM or MouseTalk on my IIgs. The closest I've come to establishing a working connection was random characters filling the screen on the GS. Can anyone with experience in doing this feat shed any light on my problem? Thanks in advance for any replies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Proline: rmichel@pro-grouch InterNet: rmichel@pro-grouch.cts.com ARPA: crash!pnet01!pro-grouch!rmichel@nosc.mil UUCP: crash!pro-grouch!rmichel ARPA: crash!pro-grouch!rmichel@nosc.mil INET: rmichel@pro-grouch.cts.com
