Would it be that hard to write a program that will unBINHEX files on a IIGS, now that we do have resource forks? If someone needs the specs on the BINHEX format, it can be retreived with: ftp him1.cc.umich.edu user: anonymous, passwd: guest cd pc2: get DO/HQXFORMAT <local filename> quit It's quite concise on how the format is used. ------- ******************************************************************* Joe Carlin Don't Panic! ud041948@ndsuvm1.bitnet "I seem to be having this terrible difficulty with my lifestyle." - Arthur Dent, HGTTG *******************************************************************

If you FTP to sumex-aim.stanford.edu and look in the info-mac/unix directory you will find a package called mcvert 1.5. It is a set of programs that will allow you to unBINHEX (4.0) files under Unix. They can/should be easily ported to the GS. Ive done some porting and it is trivial. Ill move them to the GS and see what can be done if there is sufficient interest in it.
