I have a vague recollection that something like the following might have been talked about on the net before. If so, then I scrolled past it without paying attention since I have a GS, not a Laser...little did I know... Anyway, the problem is this: A friend of mine recently got a modem for her Laser 128EX, and I wanted to give her a copy of Kermit 3.86 to use with it. I tried configuring it for a Super Serial Card, but that didn't work--when I typed "connect" the screen would clear, the cursor would blink at me for a second or two, and then the system would crash with ProDOS's "RESTART SYSTEM" message at the bottom of the screen. This happened no matter how the Laser's modem port was configured. We know that both the modem port and the modem work, since the setup worked beautifully with some other communication programs that I have-- unfortunately, of the other programs I own, one won't capture text, and the other is too stupid to handle some of the systems that my friend wants to call. Is there anybody out there who knows how to get Kermit 3.86 to run on a Laser 128EX? - Neil Parker -- Neil Parker - Preferred address: parker@corona.uoregon.edu Other addresses: nparker@cie.uoregon.edu, parker@astro.uoregon.edu, nparker@decoy.cc.uoregon.edu, nparker@oregon.uoregon.edu
