Hey, has anyone ever held down Open Apple-Option when they frist boot? Well a friend of mind did and a little message came up in the box with the little red bar that said Express Load. Does anyone know if that speeds up the boot process? Also I created a postscript file on my GS and took it to a Mac, used AFX to transfer it to the Mac. Then I used a file called Sendps to print it on the Laser printer. It worked fine the first time, but when I tried it again after making a few changes to my origional file and recreating the postscript file again, the Laserwriter would not print it. It came up with an undefined symbol error. I went through the same procedure today and the thing worked like a champ. Do you think is was just a bad creation of the postscript file, or is there someting that I am doing wrong? Has anyone ever tried to use a Mac laserwriter driver on a GS? :} Just a wild idea I had. One more thing, get Task Force Gs. Its great. Robert Brown BITNET: RXBROWN@UALR AOL: ROBPHD Apple IIGS the power to be your best!!!

In Reply To: RXBROWN@UALR.BITNET ("MR.FANTASTIC") Nopers, the "ExpressLoad" logo at the "Welcome to the IIgs" GS/OS boot screen does NOT speed up loading of GS/OS... it just seems to be a little logo. You can force the logo to pop up on all GS/OS boots (without pressing the OA/Option keys) by setting the AuxType of the EXPRESSLOAD file to $5254. ($5254 in ASCII happens to be "RT", Rob Turner's initials...) (Similarly, you can force the system to boot up with that text screen of load modules by setting the AuxType of START.GS.OS to $5254...)
