[comp.sys.apple2] DOS and 3.5 drive

jdb@sactoh0.UUCP (Jeff D. Behl) (07/23/90)

This is my first attempt at a post so if I mess up, sorry. Anyways,
here is my probelm. I recenlty bought a program that runs under Dos 3.3
and takes 6 5.25's! I have a gs and was wondering if there is a way or
program that a 3.5 can be formatted with dos 3.3? It really would save
a lot of time.

I know of two "DOS 3.3" packages that work with 3 1/2 inch disks.
AmDOS, which I believe was written by Gary Little and UniDOS,
which I think I got through Call A.P.P.L.E./Microsparc.
I have only used Unidos. It is nice and has the ability to run even
Integer Basic programs like DST (Drive Speed Test). A blast from the
past...

There are a few products out there to do this. The one I have an ad
for is UniDOS by Microsparc (publisher of nibble magazine).

It supports two 400k volumes per disk, up to two drives, accessible
as drives 1-4. The version advertised works on the //+,c,and e,
but a new version might work on the GS.

The most recent price I have for it is $49.95 postpaid.

Programs Plus also lists a "UniDos" by Meacom for $22.
