[comp.sys.apple2] Faster

crew@pro-harvest.cts.com (Chris Wicklein) (07/29/90)

Question. Why does my modem (1200 bps) seem so fast now that I've switched
from a //e to a IIgs? It speeds up displayed text, but not file x-fer.

Printing charaters to the screen is very time consuming and slows down the
//e but not the IIgs but when downloading no charaters are printed so
both machines can keep up. (also depends on the termial software you are using
