[comp.sys.apple2] SoundSmith V0.94

I just got around to installing it, and I thought I should mention some non-
obvious things I found out.

1) You need Tool 32 (we all knew that) but you don't need the Apple Midi
driver unless (I suppose) you want to use it. I have no MIDI device, so I
can't tell exactly. The Right Way to install these, I imagine, is with the
Installer, which installs both. Just copying Tool 32 works with the current
   system, though.

2) You need the Sndsmith.Config file. The first copy I got didn't have it, and
it crashes without it. I don't like other peoples config files either, but
   this program needs it.

3) You need to a) make Sndsmith.Sys16 the boot program by either of the two
usual methods, or b) use a program launcher other than the Finder, which is
too fat. I launch it from Prosel-16 with a full system including some extra
inits and DAs and haven't had any problems. It never makes it from the
Finder, even with a stripped system.

I use it on a hard drive; folks with only 3.5" disks would probably be
happiest with a dedicated boot disk, unless they customarily boot GS/OS into
something other than the Finder that can launch Soundsmith successfully.

SoundSmith .94 can be run from the Finder. I don't know why everyone
is having problems with running SoundSmith from the Finder...I just copyed it
over and had no problems. I only have 1.25 Megs, and I using GS.OS 5.02, a
hard drive, and I am still running DA's and Init's.

All is Weird when it comes to SoundSmith...
