I've noticed the same problems with my ADB keyboards. Upon examination, I was unable to find any visible damage to the connectors. I was able to get a good deal from a friend on a Mac keyboard that he was planning to upgrade anyway. After a few weeks, I noticed the same type of problems with my new keyboard. It could be the connector on the back of the GS. It's probably cracked.
They crack on my keyboard was so thin, I almost had to use a microscope
to see it. So I just wiggled the connector while looking at the bottom
of the circuit board on the keyboard and noticed that one of the pins
was moving and the crack, then, became appearent.
