I am finally able to display GIFs in 3200 mode (after optimizing each scanline down to 16 colors). They do look really good - but as I expected they do not usually look significantly better than GIFs using all 16 palettes (since you get up to 256 colors anyway - and GIFs can have a max of 256 colors). Sometimes they do - it depends on the color distribution. I can save GIFs (and any other graphic) in any of the current 3200 modes now. I really need to be able to convert some source of graphics with > 256 colors such as IFF, PICT2, etc. I have the specs for these - but no graphics. Would someone out there like to send me (via snail mail) a disk containing some IFF graphics and/or some PICT2 graphics (preferably IFF) on a ProDOS disk. A source of various sized PCX (PC Paintbrush - for I*Ms) format graphics would also be really good as I have the specs for those files as well. Those that have helped me in the past know that I am thankful - you will get your name in the software and the software to beta test if you want it. I will take the best offer I get in the next week. Please arrange it with me before you send it off. And DO NOT Email me any graphics - I cannot get them onto my GS from here.
