This may just be some fluke that I havent isolated fully but Ive been having some problems with using NDAs and the Finder. The steps to produce it: 1) Boot into the Finder 2) Open a folder on any disk. 3) Open another folder w/in the prev. folder 4) Select (single click) any file (I tried all files I have). 5) Open most any NDA (I DIDNT try Control Panel; I DID try Show Textfile, Find File, and File Control as those are the only ones I have handy) 6) A dialog box pops up with the message 'The pathname is too long. (Cancel)'. No matter what I try, this dialog will just keep poping up until I power off or recycle. IF I try the same steps EXCEPT step 4 then all works fine. I can also do steps 2-5 on any NDA WITH OUT having step 6 occur IF I SKIP STEP 4 the first time I invoke the NDA. Can anyone else duplicate this on their system? Id be interested in any ideas why this occurs (maybe unitialized pointers...). I know the workaround, Im just curious in seeing if this is a bug w/Finder or something else. My configuration is: ROM 01 6 Meg memory System 5.0.2 installed using the installer 3.5" drive 60MB CMS HD 30MB Trustor HD Sonic Blaster Bruce (bkahn@archive.rtp.dg.com)

It seemed to me that if I just left the System.Disk online all the time, everything was OK. And another helpful thing was to open the standard file dialog before I switched disks. ------- Mike UD182050@NDSUVM1 (.Bitnet?)
