[comp.sys.apple2] Apple II modem card ? Anyone seen one recently ?

Vernon_CF@cc.curtin.edu.au (08/09/90)

Does anyone know of a plug-in modem for the Apple IIe ?
I saw an ad for one years ago, but the company has discontinued
production.

Any ideas?

All modems plug in in one way or another, but from your subject line, I
assume you mean a card... The only ones I know of are the Applied
Engineering Datalink 1200 and Datalink 2400. I'm using the 2400 in my
GS right now, but it's made for any Apple II with slots. But be warned,
If you ever need to call technical support or send it back, you're in for
a ride!

I am currently using a Prometheus 1200a card modem. The only problem I have
with it, is that it is actually 2 cards and therefore takes up two slots.

I picked up a BARECOM MODEM SERIES internal modem for my Apple ][.
I am told that it is a "clone" of a 300 baud ZOOM modem . I have not
installed it yet . Does anyone have any info on my modem? If it is not in
the setup for my terminal program , what is it most like?
Please send E-Mail and network replies.
