i had a working Maxtor 760 Hard disk. After all of the discussion about formatting 1:1 interleave, I tried everything to reformat it. I finally got the Apple DMA High-Speed SCSI Utilities to Format it 1:1. It was during this format that I wondered if the was only high-level and the finder would have to be used to format low-level. In the middle of the format, I rebooted. Now my Maxtor has errors reading the size. The finder says it is write protected. The DMA High-Speed SCSI Utils had errors reading the drive and says size can't be determined. The advanced disk utilites doesn't even show the drive (since the finder would only let me cancel because of the "write protection"). What recourse, if any, do I have? Is the drive geometry/mfg defect list screwed? How do I tell without a sector editor? I tried the Prodos-16 exerciser to no avail.
